5 Industrial Aluminum Extrusion Profiles from an Indonesia Manufacturer

Aluminum weighs about one-third as much as steel or copper. That difference makes aluminum extrusion profiles lighter to transport, install, and move along industrial production lines. For buyers ordering large quantities, the lower weight also means each meter adds less load to the structure and shipment. These considerations can matter when comparing profiles for a factory or project.

PT Exalum Metal Indo was established in 2009 and is based in Serang, Tangerang, on a 20,000-square-meter site. The company is among Indonesia extruded aluminum manufactures that manage their own production. The resulting Exalummetal industrial aluminum products include more than 30 profile types, five of which are frequently sought by industrial buyers.

Flat Bar

A flat bar has a rectangular cross-section and a flat profile. It can be used for structural supports, electrical busbars, architectural trims, and machined components. This gives buyers a way to consider both function and appearance.

The catalog contains 40 flat bar sections, allowing a factory to check available cross-sections before considering a new die. Section 10251 measures 115.00 mm wide and 10.00 mm thick, has no corner radius, and weighs 3.117 kg per meter. At the other end of the range, section 10022 is 12.70 mm wide and 0.80 mm thick, weighing 0.028 kg per meter.

Spandrel

Spandrel is a long panel profile used for exterior soffits, ceiling panels, wall cladding, and gas station canopies. Its non-combustible property makes it a suitable option for commercial areas and canopies where fire resistance is required. These applications can call for different dimensions and finishes, so the profile’s specifications can be adjusted to suit project needs.

Section 62030 is 106.50 mm wide, with a profile height of 9.00 mm and a wall thickness of 1.00 mm. It weighs 0.350 kg per meter. That 1.00 mm wall thickness appears in only three of the nine spandrel sections listed in the catalog. The other six have a thickness of 0.80 mm. Buyers can use these specifications to compare available options for a project.

Equal Angle

Equal angle has an L-shaped cross-section with two legs of equal length. It is used for corner protection, structural frameworks, architectural edging, shelving, and brackets. The profile can therefore serve both finishing and structural applications.

Section 20092 has 50.00 mm legs, a thickness of 4.00 mm, and a weight of 1.040 kg per meter. It is the largest and heaviest equal angle in the catalog. By comparison, the smallest option, section 20018, has 9.50 mm legs and weighs 0.040 kg per meter.

C Channel

C Channel, also called unequal channel, has a U-shaped cross-section. It is used to protect the edges of plywood, MDF, glass, and composite panels. The profile can also cover exposed edges on shopfitting, furniture, and partition systems. In addition, it can act as a guide rail for panels and sliding doors, making its role relevant to both edge finishing and movement.

Section 32053 measures 101.60 mm wide, with 19.05 mm legs and a wall thickness of 0.90 mm. Its weight is 0.336 kg per meter, making it the widest and heaviest channel among the five sections in the catalog. Section 31021, by contrast, is only 15.20 mm wide and weighs 0.085 kg per meter. The 0.90 mm wall thickness is also used in three other channel sections.

Heat Sink

Heat sink extrusion is used to cool high-power LED housings, inverters, transformers, amplifiers, computer components, and telecommunications equipment such as 5G base stations. Exalummetal recommends 6063 because it combines ease of extrusion with good thermal performance. When choosing a profile, buyers can compare the section dimensions and weight against the requirements of the equipment being cooled.

Section 96001 is 49.90 mm wide and 60.00 mm high, with a wall thickness of 1.25 mm. It weighs 0.799 kg per meter. Its height matches section 96003 as the greatest among the 11 heat sink sections listed in the catalog. The shortest listed option, section 96010, is 10.00 mm high, showing the range of heights available.

Flat bar, spandrel, equal angle, C Channel, and heat sink serve structural, architectural, edge-protection, and cooling needs across industry. Each profile has a section number, dimensions, wall thickness, and weight per meter listed in the Exalum catalog. Aluminum’s low weight also makes these profiles easier to handle when purchasing in large quantities.
