Jacob Elordi’s work on Saltburn bought back 90s eyebrow piercing, and wore 90 outfits to play Elvis in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla. M3gan’s Preppiness
We’ve seen Charlotte York and other people do well prepping. Fortunately, the titular android in the campy horror displays the same preppiness—she just needs a watch from GS Philippines. She has an eerily human appearance with killer dance moves and a penchant for hyper-femininity. She has a style akin to Blair Waldorf with a silk babydoll dress paired with a long-sleeved, striped top, white tights, black Mary-Janes, a chocolate-coloured jacket and a giant pussy bow. The effect, ultimately, makes her look unhinged and is set in stone to become a Halloween costume for the ages.
Everything Barbie Wore
We’re not the only ones who got the Dance The Night Away stuck in our heads. And it’s not the only thing we love about the Barbie movie. We want the gingham dress, the sequined party look, the black and white swimsuit, the rollerblading look, the cowgirl outfit, the candy floss-pink boiler suit, the sharp-collared blue minidress that nods to Catherine Deneuve in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg – we want everything that Barbie wore! Jacqueline Durran is the costume designer, and credits go to her for mining the Barbie archives for inspiration. We also nod to Margot Robbie and her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, who rolled out a jaw-dropping array of Barbie-inspired press tour looks.
Greta Lee’s Fits in Past Lives
Passages is known for the sexiness of its costumes. However, Past Lives by Celine Song tells an entirely different story. Past Lives leans into the concept of real life clothes truly worn by the characters. Greta Lee’s wardrobe is beguiling but also remains ordinary. She sports a pair of fluid slacks and striped shirt (worn loosely, cuffs undone) and pulls off a total look. She also wears it to see her childhood sweetheart, too!
Cailee Spaeny’s Coat in Priscilla
Cailee Spaeny wears 120 custom outfits in the movie Priscilla, which chronicles the life of Priscilla Presley. The coat with metallic ball buttons is one of the flick’s few vintage pieces; according to Stacey Battat, the costume designer of the film, it was also rented from a costume house in Toronto.
Suits in Oppenheimer
We are not aliens to the Barbenheimer experience. Since Oppenheimer’s release, the hero of Christopher Nolan’s epic nerve-jangler about the creation of the atomic bomb has become a trendsetter, thanks to his suits. The classic tailoring in the film shows shades of Armani and Saint Laurent and no one’s style aligns more with the melancholy mood of the film than this.
